Meet the Anglo-Chinese Team
EVE LEUNG (BA, MMus, PhD London)
Eve Leung has first-hand experience studying in UK boarding school. She studied PhD, MMus Ethnomusicology and BA Music studies in School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) . Eve’s early career was with SOAS Students’ Union and University of London Union in student support roles. She then became first International Students Block of 12 officer representing UK International students in National Union of Students. Continuing her International student’s welfare work, Eve spent four years at University of Greenwich where she was International Student Advisor. Recently she was registrar at Jimmy Choo’s International School of Creative Arts, maintaining admission enquiries and administration of university entry. Having dealt with international students for over 10 years, in 2012 Eve founded Anglo-Chinese, a UK guardianship agency specifically aimed for Hong Kong, Macau and China students.

GWYN PHILLIPS (Freeman of the City of London)
HOST FAMILY CO-ORDINATOR
Gwyn has been working in the UK education industry for over forty years. He has worked in various UK boarding schools including Framingham College and King Edward School Witley. He was a member of Economic Association’s Council for many years and was an Independent School Inspector. At King Edward’s he held various positions including Head of Economics and Business and Deputy Head. As Deputy Head part of his responsibility was recruiting overseas international students and significantly increased number of students of different nationalities. He has travelled extensively in the Far East and worked with a number of leading international agents especially in Hong Kong, China, Korea and Thailand. He is currently host family coordinator for Anglo Chinese Student Services and is responsible for a growing network of British families looking after Chinese Students in the UK.
WAI-KIN SHING (BBA, MSc)
Wai-Kin studied at a independent boarding school in Surrey. He graduated with Business Administration BBA at University of Kent Canterbury and Entrepreneurship MSc at Royal Holloway. He was assistant to Abacus Chinese society Events Officer helping organise key events such as Chinese New Year Dinner. Wai-Kin joined Anglo-Chinese as an Education Consultant and brings much experience, having worked in education since graduation. He had previously worked at Jimmy Choo’s International School of Creative Arts as a school administrator and was an examinations processing officer at University of London. Wai-Kin’s role at Anglo-Chinese is to provide guardianship for international students in the UK, along with monitoring social media and copywriting marketing material. He also assists in the careful planning of UK Summer Schools for Chinese students.
